Esperanza Legal Assistance Center

Quick Links

Esperanza Legal Assistance Center provides legal assistance to low-income, immigrant, and Spanish-speaking residents of the Quad Cities who are seeking assistance with issues relating to immigration, such as:

  • citizenship (naturalization, acquisition, and derivation)

  • document renewals (employment, green card, temporary protected status etc.)

  • family sponsorship

  • adjustment of status/ consular processing

ELAC does not handle asylum, deportation, removal, or waivers of inadmissibility. However, we can provide guidance, direction, and referrals.

Our office is currently accepting clients by appointment only.

CONSULTATION APPOINTMENT

Booking a consultation appointment with us is the first step towards determining the best possible immigration status for you. During the appointment, we will gather all the necessary information about your immigration history and assess your situation to identify the most suitable options for you. If we are unable to assist you, we will refer you to other service providers in our network. However, please note that booking a consultation does not guarantee that we will take on your case.

Please be aware that the consultation fee of $60 is separate from any legal-case fees and will not be applied to them. There may be some exceptions to this, which we will discuss with you during the appointment.

We are unable to provide detailed guidance or answer specific questions about self-filed applications without a consultation appointment. This is to ensure your safety and to minimize any risks associated with filing. If you wish to self-file and require guidance only, please mention this in your appointment request.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Financial assistance is available for those who qualify, but no one will be turned away for an inability to pay. (Proof of income, etc., is required for reduced service fee waivers.)
